A new book called 'Homemade"

I have a new book. It's called 'Homemade' by Ros Badger and Elpeth Thompson. I love those kind of books. It's full of gorgeous DIY projects for the home. DIY: Simple necklaces

A simple DIY project for a rainy day or so... A couple of weeks ago I bought large wooden beads because I wanted to make an interesting toy for my little baby daughter. At first I found the colours not very pleasing because they were all mixed in the box that I bought. But then I started to separate the colours and put them on leather ribbon and look how beautiful and minimalist they look now! I still saved some beads for my daughter and she also loves her new toy!

The little sister of the cow hide

Between my husband and me we are still discussing whether we should buy a cow hide for our apartment or not. We both like the style but we are not sure whether it will be really durable. Then last week upon a visit to IKEA I came across this goat hide. They also had some that resembled miniature cow hides. It was love at first sight and now this silvery friend is warming our feet when getting up and going to bed (not that we needed any feet warming at the moment but the time will come when it will be truly appreciated). Plus it adds a cozy flair to our bed room. So now we can test the durability "en miniature".

Super simple pants for baby

I have made a pair of new pants for my little daughter. The style is similar to the one in Lotta Jansdotter's book 'Simple Sewing for Baby'. But her pants were too large for my 5 months old daughter so I adapted the pattern according to one of her pants. The fabric was a piece of bedlinen from IKEA. I love those dots!

My baby seems to be really comfy in them and she looks so cute when she wears them. Plus they are the right choice for late summer (we still have 25 degrees here in Hong Kong) as the fabric is light and breathable.

Here is the how to for the pattern. You might need to adapt the length a bit. The best will be to check with some existing pants. All seam allowances are included. Cut the pattern twice from fabric. The top of the pants has a 3 cm wide foldover (final width of seam will be 1.5 cm). Use elastic for the waistband. Adjust the lenght of the elastic according to one of your baby's existing pants. The leg seam should have a final width of 1 cm.

Baby Gap has arrived

The GAP delivery has arrived today! Yeah! Oh and the stuff is soooooo cute. I love these little fur booties and the vintage style knitted booties. And my sweetie also got her first pair of jeans! So that's a beginning for her winter wardrobe which she will definitely need when we go to Germany for Christmas. And those two bodysuits are just so pretty too...
